Our Latest Victims

This past weekend, we went hiking with our newish friends, Allison and Chris. In fact we are such new friends that they didn't know of our history with jumping. When I say "history", I do of course mean obsession.

Sometimes the out-takes are the best ones. The North Sister makes for a nice backdrop, don't ya think?


We had a great time hiking in the snow. Our original plan was to spend the night, but when we heard it was suppose to drop to 10 degrees during the evening, we opted to instead spend the night in front of our heat dish at home.

Look what I did!

I'm just a little bit excited about my newest project.

It all started with three little products.

A little grating-that's Fels-Naptha, not cheese.

Some food processor action. Jake looks thrilled to be helping.

And voila, we have our very own homemade laundry detergent. Yipeee.

Why's this guy so happy?

He made his first cent since March 2007. This definitely called for some high class champagne. If you need a substitute a teacher, give him a call- rumor has it that he's pretty dang good.

Portraits Without Photoshop Gimmicks

Hello, all.

A couple weeks ago, in the last throws of summer, I took Jill onto the UO campus and shot practice portraits of her. This is all in the hopes that I might someday coerce high school students to abandon the option of expensive and impersonal corporate senior photography, and let me tailor my portraits to their lifestyles for a cheaper price (I love undercutting when I can).

Anyway, here are a few of the results, albeit without Photoshop gimmicks (or even photoshop on age wrinkles, much to Jill's dismay). For a fun game, look for Jill's most forced smile; can you tell which shots were taken towards the end of the shoot?

The Big Graduate

The Board of Regents, Faculty and the Graduating Class of The University of Oregon are pleased to announce that Jacob Daniel Denbrook is a candidate for the degree of Masters of Education in Teaching and Learning.

In a private backyard ceremony, Jacob Daniel proudly accepted his diploma. It was a joyous occasion, and all the new graduate could say was "I couldn't have done it without my wife's constant love and monetary support."



Looking good in a custom made mortarboard, the graduate makes his way across the lawn and receives his diploma.



Everyone in attendance was in awe of Jacob's accomplishment.
